Logic of Science ("we") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we process when you use the Logic of Science app, why, how long we keep it, and your choices.
1. Information we process
Google account information (only if you choose to sign in): when you sign in with Google, our server receives your Google account ID, email address, display name and profile picture URL to verify your identity and show your account in the app. This information is not written to any database; we only issue a sign-in token valid for 30 days, stored on your device.
Chart information you enter: birth date and time, birth place, gender, an optional name, and your chart or reading requests. These are sent over HTTPS to our server for calculation and the result is returned to you. The server processes them in memory only and does not store them in a database.
Content stored on your device: saved cases, notes, settings, and cached calculation results are kept only on your phone; we cannot access them.
Server logs: for security and troubleshooting, our web server records access time, IP address, request path and user-agent. Logs do not contain the chart information you enter.
2. How we use information
To provide charting, readings and the features available after sign-in;
To verify sign-in and prevent abuse (for example rate limiting);
To troubleshoot and keep the service secure and stable.
We do not sell your personal information, do not use it for advertising or profiling, and do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
3. Sharing and third-party services
Google provides sign-in. During sign-in you are redirected to Google; the Google Privacy Policy applies. We only obtain basic profile information (email, name, picture).
DigitalOcean hosts our server in its United States (San Francisco) data center.
Cloudflare provides DNS.
Except for the providers above as needed to run the service, or where required by law, we do not disclose your information to others.
4. Retention
Server access logs are automatically deleted after 14 days; logs related to a detected violation or security incident are kept only until that matter is resolved;
Apart from access logs, we do not store your personal information on our servers;
Data on your device is under your control: sign out, clear app data or uninstall the app to remove it.
5. Where data is processed
Our calculation server is located in the United States. By using the app, your chart requests are transmitted there for processing.
6. Security
All communication with our server uses HTTPS. Sign-in tokens are signed and time-limited; the server rate-limits requests and exposes only necessary ports. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
7. Your choices and rights
You can use basic features without signing in; signing in is voluntary;
You can sign out or use "Delete account and data" in the app's User tab at any time;
You can contact us to access, correct or delete information about you — see Account & Data Deletion.
8. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this page.
